‘Above-Normal Atlantic Hurricane Activity’ Over Next 2 Weeks

09/30/20

Triple-I non-resident scholar Phil Klotzbach, PhD, and the Colorado State University atmospheric science team are calling for “above-normal Atlantic hurricane activity” over the next two weeks. The National Hurricane Center is watching two disturbances in the Atlantic Basin. A tropical wave in the western Caribbean has a 70 percent chance of becoming Tropical Storm Gamma over the next five days, the 24th named Atlantic storm of 2020. A new wave east of the Lesser Antilles has a 20 percent chance of development.
